You don’t need to run 26.2 miles to enjoy the free music and festival that tomorrow’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon (San Diego Marathon) will showcase.

The only full marathon in San Diego, designed to be entertaining for the participants and the spectators. Twenty-six stages planted across the course will feature 42 bands throughout the morning and into the afternoon.

About 165,000 spectators typically watch the race, which begins on the west side of Balboa Park and meanders through downtown before cutting through Mission Valley and around Mission Bay. The race ends at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.

Some 40 cheerleading squads will be in costume and have themed floats as part of a local competition. But often it’s the runners who amuse the observers. Descriptions of some of the runners’ outfits are better left out of a family newspaper.

The marathon leads to road closures and traffic delays, so it’s best to be patient, arrive early and rely on trolleys where you can. Once you get there, you might find yourself in the midst of a party, listening to live music and rooting for the runners.

The bands Bedford Grove and English Beat will perform at the Finish Line Festival at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.

Various businesses will have trailers with these displays or games, and some will hand out free samples of products.

Race starts at 6:30 a.m. and the Finish Line Festival ends at 3 p.m. The course winds through neighborhoods around the city. Some of the better spots to watch the race while listening to music are on Park Boulevard, Broadway and Friars Road.

Britain’s Got Talent | Britain’s Got Talent 2009 Winner | Britain’s Got Talent 2009 winner is Diversity | Diversity wins Britain’s Got Talent 2009

The Britain’s Got Talent 2009 winner is Diversity.

In series 3, Britain’s Got Talent become more popular than ever, with an especially large international audience thanks in large part to one of the most overrated reality TV contestants in recent memory, singer Susan Boyle.

As much hype as there was surrounding Boyle, mounting speculation during the semi-final rounds was that she was no sure thing to win, as there was a lot of talent (in addition to some acts that slipped through merely because they were desperate to fill 40 slots).

he group dance acts normally get lost in the shuffle, but their creativity made them stand out, which can be attributed largely to choreographer and lead dancer Ashley Banjo. With their win, they are now £100,000 richer and will be performing for the queen at the Royal Variety.

Susan Boyle became first runner up, and Julian Smith came in third place.
